It is one of the simplest things in the world – herb infused vinegar. In this case I’m using the chive blossoms. I probably have one more post regarding them, but… when nature gives you a bounty, I think it is our responsibility not to squander it.
Not much of a recipe, put a bunch of chive blossoms in a jar, add vinegar to cover. Put jar in a cool dark place for a few weeks and we’ll have vinegar with the subtle flavoring of chives!
Use anywhere you’d like the flavor, salad dressings, or whatever sounds good to you.
I know what I’m going to make, but you’ll just have to wait!

I’ll definitely be waiting to see what you make. I have made herbal vinegars before and they just sat there as I never found anything to do with them. It isn’t that they aren’t useful, it is just that I didn’t know how to use them.

Hi! I have made chive blossom vinegar before and it is so pretty. The only thing I have used it for is in my homade sloppy joe recipe so would like other ideas also. Nancy at Cozy Thyme Cottage

Not sure it’ll be earth moving but I think it will be tasty!

I made this last year for the first time. I do quite a lot of cooking and I usually have a chicken simmering once a week. I’ve started using the vinegar in place of white wine. Of course for dressing is a must and as a marinade for meats. The list goes on and on Have fun discovering new uses and I’ll be watching for fresh ideas.

Thanks for the recipe. I looked for chive blossoms this weekend because of your suggestions. Mine are budding. It will probably be another week or so before they blossom.
