Sunday Harvest(s)
I made a trip over to the veggie plot. It is terribly over grown and the only thing surviving are the peppers and tomatoes. Not sure what happened to the vines (zucchini, cucumber) but they are shot. The tomatoes, though over grown, are prolific. Sadly any ripe tomatoes were chewed and/or rotted. I picked almost 7 lbs of green tomatoes! We’ll see if they ripen on the shelf.
When I got home it was finally cool enough (83F) to water. While watering I saw plenty to pick. So I did.
Here is today’s haul. It’s more than 13 lbs of produce. I’m pretty happy with that!
Meatless Monday should be a snap!
Until next time, Keep Digging & Eat Well!

Look at all those colors! You should get a good, nutritious meatless meal from that harvest. I'll have a steak with mine.
What?

Sounds good Granny. Once a week vegetarian doesn't feel like any sacrifice. I get plenty of animal protein!

>Good Haul! I think this is the first time in ages I can look at a yellow crookneck squash without shuddering. (Had TOO big of a harvest several years ago!!) Now I'm thinking stir-fry!

>What's the status of your shared veggie plot, David? You don't mention it much these days. I suppose you have been concentrating on your own garden this year. With your raised beds and SFG you probably don't need the place the other side of town so much.

>Sue, I only have one plant each Zucchini / Crooked Neck Squash so I am able to stay opn top of it.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Hi Mark, The plot is neglected, but all the green tomatoes above are from there. I don't think we'll be growing there after this year, especially considering the planned expansion of beds here.
